On November 3 - 4, 2023, a work seminar initiated by the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province on intellectual property-strengthened industrial chains in the Yangtze River Delta was held in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province. Responsible comrades and business backbones from industrial promotion (application promotion) offices under the intellectual property office of Jiangsu Province, Shanghai City, Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province, as well as the chief officer of the Intellectual Property Office of Wujiang District and local government representatives, attended the seminar.

At the seminar, the participants specially learned essence of the document, Special Action Plan for Patent Conversion and Application (2023-2025), issued by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and carried out discussions centering on contribution of intellectual properties to strengthening industrial chains. The Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province primarily introduced its empirical practice of strengthening high-value patent development; the Intellectual Property Office of Shanghai City focused on introduction to its experience in construction of intellectual property operation and service clusters; the Intellectual Property Office of Zhejiang Province shared its experience in concentrated efforts on construction of patent navigation service bases, industrial intellectual property operation centers and other public service carriers; the Intellectual Property Office of Anhui Province shared information on its practice in motivating efforts in local intellectual property development through business environment assessments. Besides, representatives at the seminar also discussed and exchanged views on patent navigation, trademark brand development, standard implementation by enterprises, construction of an industrial intellectual property federation, patent-intensive product registration and recognition, and other specific work.

After discussion, the representatives came to a consensus that in the Yangtze River Delta of developed economy, vigorous innovation and solid industrial foundation, intellectual properties shall play a greater role in strengthening industrial chains and boosting high-quality development. Competent industrial property departments shall further enrich communication and cooperation, apply advantageous resources of different places, jointly explore new modes and ways for strengthening industrial chains with intellectual properties, and seek consistent thinking of intellectual property development, common progress in service and sharing of achievements. The seminar also discussed about meetings of general intellectual property directors from enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, and reached a consensus on building a long-term regular communication mechanism with respect to strengthening industrial chains with industrial properties in the Yangtze River Delta.
