The Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province held the event "Lecture and Training for the Revision of Implementation Rules of the Patent Law and Patent Examination Guidelines" from January 10 to 11 in Nanjing. This training is the first batch of events on the serial lectures and training of the Implementation Rules of the Patent Law and Patent Examination Guidelines conducted by the National Intellectual Property Office as part of the "Legal Safeguard for Innovation and Nationwide Popularization for Patent Law". Zhao Qi, Deputy Director-General of the Provincial Intellectual Property Office, addressed the training event.

Zhao Qi emphasized that the revision of the Patent Law Implementation Rules and Patent Examination Guidelines further improves the patent application and examination system, marking another important achievement in the construction of intellectual property law. Pre-implementation official lectures and training hold significant significance, and participants should cherish this valuable learning opportunity, actively listen, and gain knowledge. In the next step, Jiangsu will take this event as an opportunity to continue strengthening popularization of law, promote the rapid implementation of new intellectual property laws and regulations such as the Implementation Rules of Patent Law, and better play the significant role of the patent system in stimulating innovation to serve the high-quality development of the province's economy and society.

During the two-day event, business backbone and experts from various departments such as the Department of Treaties and Law, the Examination Management Department of the Patent Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration provided detailed interpretations of the modifications to the Implementation Rules of Patent Law, and the content of Patent Examination Guidelines, including substantive examination and invalidation of reexamination, standards for examination of computer programs, standards for examination of traditional Chinese medicine, initial examination and procedures, and examination of industrial design.

The heads of relevant departments of the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province, and representatives from the administrative management departments and the Intellectual Property Protection Center of the provincial intellectual property office system, and the Service Organization for Science and Technology Innovation Enterprises and Intellectual Property, totaling more than 200 people, participated in the on-site lecture and training. Additionally, over 13,000 people across the province participated in the training through the online live-streaming room.
