On January 22, the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province held a provincial patent navigation work symposium, with more than 40 people, including the people in charge of the patent navigation of provincial and municipal intellectual property offices, as well as the heads of the national and provincial patent navigation service bases, attending the meeting.

The Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province reported on the work of the province's patent navigation in 2023 and introduced the overall considerations for the patent navigation work in 2024. The Jiangsu Intellectual Property Protection Center, Changzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center, and Suzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center, as representatives of the patent navigation service bases, shared their experiences in base construction and patent navigation work. Representatives attending the meeting introduced the practices and effects of promoting patent navigation in their respective regions and units. During the symposium, discussions and exchanges focused on the role and application of patent navigation service bases and other key issues have been carried out, and a consensus has been formed on further strengthening the construction of patent navigation service bases in the next phase.

The Jiangsu Province Patent Navigation Practice Guideline was released during the symposium, which was organized and compiled by the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province, systematically sorting out important concepts, application scenarios, operating procedures, and analysis points of patent navigation, supplemented by numerous practical cases to form a set of practical "flowcharts" and "toolboxes" for patent navigation work, providing practical and effective references. At the symposium, the specific personnel responsible for the compilation from the Jiangsu Information Institute of Science and Technology interpreted the Guidelines.

As of now, Jiangsu has 7 national patent navigation service bases, 3 national patent navigation project supporting service organizations, and 10 provincial patent navigation service bases, and has built multiple industrial patent navigation databases, initially forming a patent navigation work system with abundant data resources and distinctive industrial characteristics.
