To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the plenary session, Ma Yuqiang, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, have recently led some members of the science and technology community to conduct a special research on “Strengthening the Utilization of Intellectual Property and Promoting the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements” in Yangzhou. Shi Wei, the second-level inspector of the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province (JSIPO), participated in the research.

The research team visited Jiangsu Lianhuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Yangzhou YAPP Automotive Systems Co., Ltd., Yangzhou University Animal Biosafety Level-3 Laboratory, Key Laboratory of Plant Functional Genomics of the Ministry of Education (Jiangsu Province), listened to the relevant work report of the responsible officials of Yangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and had a discussion with the heads of relevant municipal departments, universities and scientific research institutions, and entrepreneur representatives.

During the discussion, Ma Yuqiang led all members to study the important speeches and important statements of General Secretary Xi Jinping on intellectual property (IP) work. After listening to the opinions and suggestions of all attendees, he pointed out that we must fully recognize the great significance of strengthening the utilization of IP and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and incorporate IP work into the high-quality development of our province for overall planning; we should further raise the awareness of IP protection, promote IP creation, utilization and protection, enhance industry-university-research cooperation, and improve the transformation of scientific and technological achievements; moreover, the IP protection system should be improved to provide an effective guarantee for strengthening the utilization of IP and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and better support the innovative development of industries in our province.
