From August 26 to 27, 2024, the 7th Jiangsu Water Creative Design Competition for College Students was successfully held at Hohai University. This Competition is co-sponsored by the Intellectual Property Research Association of Jiangsu Colleges and Universities, Jiangsu Intellectual Property Research Association and Jiangsu Society of Hydropower Engineering and hosted by Hohai University. Xu Hui, Chairman of Jiangsu Society of Hydropower Engineering, and Lou Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Water Resources of Hohai University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

This Competition was themed “New Quality Productive Forces of Water Conservancy”, based on the implementation direction of the national “River Strategy”, and guided by the “sixteen-character” water governance guidelines. On this basis, the design and production were centered around water conservation, water governance, ecological recovery and other topics. After public registration, qualification examination, expert review, and special committee evaluation, 8 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 20 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes were finally selected.

The Jiangsu Water Creative Design Competition for College Students is one of the provincial discipline competitions recognized by Jiangsu Higher Education Association. It is held every two years and has become a science and technology innovation event having an extensive influence in and outside Jiangsu Province. The success of this year’s competition manifests the efforts and achievements of Jiangsu Intellectual Property Research Association in promoting the training of IP talents in the province, and fully demonstrates the new style of the new force for creativity and innovation in the new era. Actively guiding college students to forge ahead in a pioneering and innovative spirit, develop learning ability and hands-on skills, and create a strong atmosphere for training innovative and entrepreneurial talents is of vital significance to advance IP education in colleges and universities of Jiangsu and improve the quality of independent talent training, and plays an important role in underpinning the efforts to build Jiangsu into a leading province with IP strength.
