The "19th Ningpinhui - Brand Salon: Influence of Civil Code and Judicial Interpretations of the Supreme People's Court on IPR Protection" organized by Nanjing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation (Nanjing Municipal Intellectual Property Office) was held on October 22. Xue Jun, vice president of Peking University Law School, Yao Bingbing, former president of Nanjing Intellectual Property Court, and other honorable guests attended the seminar and gave lectures. More than 90 people from enterprises, universities, and IP service providers participated in the event.
Prof. Xue Jun analyzed the provisions for Internet infringement (Articles 1194 to 1197) set forth in the Civil Code and two judicial interpretations of the Supreme People's Court. Yao Bingbing shared his views of the Civil Code's relevance to the judicial protection of IPR from aspects such as the relation between Civil Code and specialized IPR laws regarding applicability, legislative policies and judicial policies, and the application of punitive compensation for IPR infringements.
"Ningpinhui - Brand Salon" is an IPR-themed exchange initiated by Nanjing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation (Nanjing Municipal Intellectual Property Office) to publicize policies, exchange ideas, and stimulate innovation.
